The Human Zoo

ZOO transformed the concept of the zoo into an immersive 18+ experience where each monster was placed back in its own habitat, like a creature captured and then displayed for public view. Through dark and disturbing tableaux—encompassing sensuality, death, necromancy, obsession, magic, pollution, surgery, and rebellion—the exhibition used traditional monsters to denounce very human realities. Behind each beast lay a social unease: exploitation of the body, fascination with death, destruction of nature, control, confinement, and fear of difference. ZOO didn't just show monsters: it primarily revealed the monstrosity of humankind and its systems.
